DESCRIPTION: EPW - William Mould, London, verge fusee coach watch with calendar, center-seconds and hacking function, 95mm, gilt OF original pair cases, outer with oval enameled plaque of a dancing couple to rear and alternating red and white stones set to bezel, inner with makers marking in cameo which is indistinct due to rub but may be "IM" or "WI," hacking slide at 9, white enamel dial, KWKS, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled balance cock, signed gilt locking dust-cap, s#5932 with matching serial number to dust-cap.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good calendar function, good hacking function, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with few scattered fine scratches, some ultra-fine scratch striations likely from light past wipings; excellent dial with short hl within upper timekeeping register above-right of its center; fine-plus hands, minute is somewhat darker, sweep-seconds-hand with bent tip; outer case shows little wear, excellent engraving detail, thin strips of wear to brass at edges and to bezel adjacent inset stones, bezel with one stone missing at upper-left, enameled rear plaque with no chips, few tightly spaced fine fractures extending from left edge to woman's hand, light hls from left edge to man's shoulder, scattered fine scratches with increasing quantity progressing toward profuse abrasion at center; inner case shows light wear, some uneven hazy tarnish, profuse nicks to upper edge between 10 and 11, bezel leaving some gap to body in areas when which is most notable between 9 and 11, scattered spots of wear to brass to bezel, sides and rear perimeter, wear to brass to much of pendant; somewhat brassy bow pivots freely; good domed glass crystal.
